Shaving Cream Spelling Review

Today we wrote on shaving cream.  It was so fun.  I got 16 correct.  We put shaving cream on our desks and mashed it on the desk.  It was cool.

What is Happening This Week!

Monday is the Veteran's Assembly.  If it rains, 4th grade will not take part in the festivities.

We will go to the IMAX and Exploreum on Wednesday, November 14.  Please pack a sack lunch.

Please remind your student to bring in any art supplies he or she might need to decorate their vocabulary hat.  My class will spend Tuesday afternoon decorating their top hat to represent his or her selected vocabulary term.

There will be no school during Thanksgiving break, November 19-23.

Review all chapters 1-4
Unit 5 will begin after the Thanksgiving break and will cover long multiplication

What Has Happened the Past Two Weeks?

This week we took a Science test.  In Writing we started a new unit, descriptive.  We had our unit 4 math test.  We earned a Fun Friday this week.  Our class got Rockin' Reader in Library.  We started D.A.B.S, Doughnuts and Bible Stories.  This week William brought his parakeet Buddy, Ira brought his guinea pig Wizze, and Lewis brought his salamander, Swampy.

This week we learned a lot of things.  We're learning decimals.  Our test is November 9th.  It's a little confusing.  It was also Halloween week.  We all counted our candy.  It was a lot.  That's some thing this week.  At least what I can remember.

Measurements

Mrs. Brown came up with an activity to help the students practice measuring to the nearest inch and centimeter.  Students had to measure how high they could jump vertically and how far in long jump. Frisbees were also used to see how far the class could toss.  Leaf tracings allowed the students to measure the leaves.
