Making Bar Graphs

As a wrap up to Unit 2, each group of students determined what items they would bring in to chart.  The groups were required to analyze the data of what they brought in,
determine the minimum and maximum numbers along with the mode.
Students then had to create a bar graph displaying their information.
Skittles Galore separated by colors.

Candy separated by types.

Jolly Ranchers by colors.

Types of trophies was the choice of this group.

Graphing and decorating is so much fun.

Writing our Polygon Books

Be on the lookout for your child's book!  We spent a Math class taking the pictures from the scavenger hunt and creating books with them.  It might be a few days before you see the book due to the group members taking turns bringing the books home.  Once the books have returned, I will take the books down to the Lower School to share with K-2.

Polygon Scavenger Hunt

The class wrapped up Math Unit 1 with a Polygon Scavenger Hunt in Saint's Square and around the classroom.  The class, split into small groups, was given a camera and a set of items they had to locate.  The students were amazed with how much of what they had learned surrounded them in their world.

First Days of School Activities

We have had a very busy first three days of school.  Our binders are organized and prepared for success!  Let the fun begin.
Enjoying snack and friendly conversation while decorating our Science Journals.
Wrapping up our work.

The class enjoyed personalizing each journal and wished they had more time.
 I've got a creative class.

This is a hard working class!
